Main things on this blog are: how much I run, games and game reviews, food, running posts, music, art, selfies, TV shows, and whatever suits my fancy.
Hello ladies and gents, today I will be updating you on running!
I qualified ;paowjgoeiNRGLAEKFJNBskalfj!!!!!!!
After two years and a stress fracture later, I finally killed it! I ran a converted 2:54 high, a big PR! I get to go to that big meet I’ve been alluding to for the past several weeks as well. Wheeeeeee
Other than that big ass highlight, training was relatively chill last week. WE had an easy workout, is was 5x300 @ 60 with 400 jog. Just something for pacework and to get my legs moving.
Hello ladies and gents, today I will give you a summary of running things that happened last week!
Just yesterday I won the 1000, but did not qualify! I need to adjust some race mechanics and I’m there!
last Monday I did 4x400 @ 72 average, then 4x400 @ 31, 32, 32, 31 with 400 jogging rest for both sets.
Wednesday was the best workout of that type since I went to college. It was 60 sec on, 2:00 off; the 60 sec were at 5:20-:30 pace, and I felt good after words!
I also added an adjustment to my training - on tuesday’s and thursdays, I do either 800’s or 400’s @ 65-75% of max 10k pace in order to recover from the previous day’s activities.
Stay tuned to see if I qualify next weekend (let’s be honest, I probably am), and to celebrate of course!!
Okay guys, I’ve been slacking! I’ve been busy with school and haven’t really taken the time to properly update my training. So here are the highlights from the past two weeks:
Okay well this week is really the highlight of my training so far. I did 8x400 @ an average of 76, then killed the last one (72). Rest was 85 seconds.
The next day I come back for 6x200 @ 31 with 2:30 rest, smashing the last one (29.5).
Friday my legs were feeling it, but the workout was still around 83 sec per quarter average. We did 1200, 2x1k, 2x800 @ 4:12, 3:29, 3:28, 2:48, and I went for it the last one with 2:43.
HOLD ON. The week isn’t over!
Saturday I take my run out easy, but then decide to pick it up for a 6:43 average!
What? Yeah you guys read it right, I haven’t had a week of training this good in…ever. I’m in the best shape of my life right now, and that makes me really excited for our meet next Friday.
I’m going to update on my life in a bit, I’ve been busy!
Today we did 5 mile repeats! 1 mile WU, 6:25, 6:25, 6:00, 5:55, 5:58 with 60-80 seconds rest. Overall: We had to run on the outside of lane 1 slash 2 because of the snow, so the mile splits were pretty accurate, but not exact. Felt alright until #4, where I took the wind and it destroyed me for the rest of that rep, and the 5th one.
It’s been a long week, practice finally started up again, I’ve been working on a few things and we had our first meet back yesterday. I started off with an okay 1000 time, 3:05 low. Went through my splits perfect for qualifying for a big meet in about 6 weeks, but lost it after 700m and couldn’t stay with my competition. It was upsetting, but it is what it is. The only thing I can do is continue to work and move forward!
Friday I did 6.4 @ 6:51.
Saturday I took off because I went out Friday night, and didn’t get back home until very early in the morning.
Today, Sunday, I did 5.3 @ 6:49. It was tough, but I go to train at the level I want to be at in order to run fast.
Total Mileage: 40.7
So today I went into the city with my coach and teammate!! He showed us some of the major landmarks and cool places, then we went to go eat! They teased me, saying we were way over the 6 mile mark I had to do today (we ended up going 8.3). Like I said before, winter miles make spring smiles! A fun day, when we got back I lifted.
Hello all! yesterday I did 6.4 in the AM @ 7:07, then 3.3 @ 7:17. Lifted after the AM run.
Today I did a recovery, 6.33 @ 7:50. Much needed short recovery day.
